How It All started

Born in a small town, Brittany, owner and operator of Bam’s Yarn Studio was shaped into who she is today by the people and experiences that she grew up with in Northern California. Living in the Central Valley, bordered by the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east and the Coast Ranges to the west, she grew up with an appreciation for nature and a love of exploring. She also had a love for art, textiles, fashion, and has an eye for finding beauty in everyday life. The women in her family were the one’s she took the most inspiration from.

A big part of how she learned to crochet and knit were life’s circumstances she found herself in. The first time she tried crochet was after a serious car accident that left her bed-ridden for months. Her Mom thought it would be a good idea to try something new that would keep her from being bored. She learned the basics of crochet and made her first scrappy scarf.

Fast forward a few years, Brittany got married in 2011 in Portland, Oregon and began her journey moving to the east coast where her husband was born and raised. A month after arriving in Pennsylvania, she found herself expecting her first child… and it all began. She wanted to make a cozy beanie for her baby girl to combat the harsh winters in Pennsylvania, so she taught herself to knit from YouTube tutorials and grew her skills over a decade. The love of the craft grew and grew over the years, and eventually she began designing her own patterns. Her dreams became a reality she shares to this day.

Thank you for being a big part of her journey!
